Scholarships
Big Stick offers scholarships of up to $1,800 to graduating seniors from high schools in Santa Cruz County, who have demonstrated scholastic ability, a commitment to ocean sports, preservation of the ocean environment and ecology, good citizenship, and sportsmanship.
Scholarship awards are funded by the annual Logjam! contest, for which dozens of volunteers give hundreds of hours of time and effort. We have awarded over $77,200 in scholarships since 2001. Non-Profit Funding
Over the years, we've donated $140,000 to local non-profit organizations, including Ride-A-Wave, Surfrider, Save Our Shores, Surfer's Environmental Alliance, Second Harvest Food Bank, Hospice Caring Project, Santa Cruz Surfing Museum, and The Santa Cruz Scholastic Surf League.
