Scholarships & Community Giving
community giving
Big Stick Surfing Association members give to the community in many ways, but the annual Logjam! vintage longboard contest is our main fundraiser.
Logjam! is supported by dozens of volunteers, donors, and sponsors.
Revenue from Logjam! funds the Big Stick Surfing Association Scholarship Fund, donations to local Santa Cruz non-profits for ocean conservation, education, and providing ocean experiences to underserved community members.
Over 20 years Logjam! has raised over $150,000 for worthy local non-profits and scholarships.

Local Non-profit donations
Logjam! 2023 fundraising allowed Big Stick to again donate to Surfrider Foundation Santa Cruz, Save our Shores, Save the Waves, Santa Cruz Scholastic Surf League, and Ride A Wave. We added three worthy organizations to our donations: Waves of Impact, Live Oak Education Foundation, and Me Water Foundation.
